Okay so since I'm a horrible person and have literally written nothing in about a month I figured I would update you on, as Jenna Marbles would say, my majestic daily life. I honestly forget what I wrote in my last blog, but I'm sure since then, my parents came to visit, I graduated, and got into grad school. MLitt in Publishing, Stirling University, class of '13! Looks like you're stuck with me for a bit longer, Scotland.
I am currently sitting in a villa in Spain writing this. My wonderful boyfriend and his equally wonderful parents have treated me to an all expenses paid trip to Calonge, Spain. I will update my "Places I've Been" page when I get back to civilization and normal internet connection. It has been an amazing experience, if not just for the weather alone. I swam in the Mediterranean today, forgetting entirely how difficult open water swimming is. It was such a relaxing and peaceful experience, I will certainly be doing it again soon. Maybe next time I won't smack my knee on any submerged pilings. After hitting my knee, I thought of a quote from "Pearl Harbor," yes the one with Josh Hartnett. The boys are perfecting their surfboards after running them on some rocks and one says to Goose that he shouldn't do that and Goose says, "How am I supposed to know their submerged, if their submerged?" An obtuse thought to have when trying to scramble up onto rocks while getting dirty look from angry seagulls. Other than that, my skin has taken on a wonderfully bronzed glow which I will be gloating about upon my return to my pasty friends and Scotland.
Other than that, I have just finished reading the third Outlander book again, and didn't think to bring the next one so I picked up two others from a shop by the beach. One of which is, unfortunately I caved, Fifty Shades of Grey. I've heard the writing is terrible, but I have to see what the hype is about I suppose! The other is by a new author, a friend of Maggie Stiefvater, author of the Shiver series and one of my favorites, a woman named Tessa Gratton. The book is called Blood Magic and seems to be in the same vein as Maggie's writing. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations!
I have unfortunately forgotten my notebook with my timeline and brainstorming, but I might try to finish writing chapter 16 (I think?) if not, I have a new idea in mind that I want to put to paper, well, on
