Well, now that the secret is out and my birthday has passed, I can officially say I'm home and have been for a week. Surprise! I came home on Monday 22nd, and I will be home until the 10th of September. I had an incredible birthday weekend, surprised almost my entire family and a load of friends. It was great seeing everyones reactions to me being home, it truly showed how missed and loved I am here and I'm so glad to be home. In saying that, I'm hoping to sit down and write a bit while here. Chapter 15 will be on the way next time I write!

Okay so chapter 12 is now up. It is a very long excerpt with a lot of information. Everything that you may have been wondering about Robert's position, Sonja's strange encounters with the magpie, and so much more is included in this excerpt. There is still a lot to the chapter itself but this is the bulk of explanation. I think this excerpt/chapter is important because it gives a lot of answers to questions that have been asked since chapter 1. Have a read and let me know what you think!
-EJG Hey all! Chapter 11's excerpt is up so feel free to have a look and let me know what you think! This is when things start to get really interesting. This excerpt includes the lovely Gunnar and the mysterious Gerry. Enjoy!
-EJG I feel horrid today. I wanted to write a bit or at least put up another excerpt but seeing as I feel like I'm slowly falling ill, it will have to wait until I get a good night's sleep! Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some n
Finally! Chapter 14 is done and sent off to my personal editor, the lovely miss Sonja Scutaro, for comments and suggestions. I had a great time writing this chapter and it will be another difficult one to choose an excerpt from. Its a three tiered chapter, meaning it has three different sections within the one. I love writing this way because once the side stories join together it makes all the following and trying to keep track of everything and everyone worth it. I still have to read over it and edit it as well as take notes and make note of the dates to keep on a good track. The next chapter, 15, will be the start of Sonja's training which should also be an interesting chapter. I think all the chapters from here on out will be fun to write and just as fun to read. Keep an eye out for more excerpts coming your way very soon!
-EJG Hey there, again,
I have just added the chapter 10 excerpt. It has become increasingly more difficult to choose excerpts from the chapters because of how interesting and developed they are now compared to chapter 1. This particular excerpt is a bit different because it brings in my historical side, something I think I would like to include in my next novel, whatever and whenever that may be. I have always been intrigued by history, as well as a good writer, so I try to put the two together as much as possible. If you would like to have a gander at the Photos page under Making My Own Path, I have added a ton of new pictures, all of my own. Also, I added my potential cover idea, which can also be viewed in today's earlier post. I hope you enjoy it! -EJG My dear Sonja sent me this gorgeous picture a few days ago and I thought it reminded me quite a lot of Ahava, but upon further thought, and some clever editing, I think it rather reminded me of Sonja. So, here is an idea for cover art (the first one i've had *crowd cheers* thank you, thank you) Looking at it more I'm really beginning to fall in love with it. The original photo was taken by Valentina Kallias, so props to her for such a fantastic shot. Also, thanks to Sonja for sending it to me! Thoughts and feedback would be much obliged as usual, and I will try to get chapter 10's excerpt up today before heading off to day 3 in a row of work. Almost caught up, only a few more chapters and they'll all be up!
-EJG So, once again arguing with myself how much to give away, secrecy won out and I have posted chapter 9's excerpt. Hopefully you all enjoy! I have to work the next couple days, but I will be working on chapter 14 more as soon as possible. Thank you all again for reading!
-EJG So, looking at my "stats" I can see that I've had 70 page views today, 63 of those being unique viewers. I am truly amazed the 63 people would take the time to look at my site, and incredibly grateful as well! Despite the support being anonymous and silent, it is still support nonetheless, so for that, mystery viewers, I thank you. I hope to continue to bring you whatever it is that keeps you coming back. This is the most people I have had since I started writing/started this site over a year ago, and I am thoroughly impressed with my progress.
If there is anything you would like to see, or anything that could be changed at all, please please please let me know and I'll see what I can do. If posting on the blog is too public, send me a private message on facebook, or an email ([email protected]). Also, I post the blogs on twitter, so you can follow me there! Again, thank you all very much for the support! -EJG Hey all,
Chapter 8's excerpt is now up. I had a hard time choosing between two excerpts but I went with this one. I think it shows Matt's emotional side and the struggle teenagers, and older people alike, have with their emotions. The other excerpt gave too much away of where the story line is going so I figured if I do get published some day I would like my readers to be interested and surprised. Hopefully you all enjoy these excerpts and are reading them. I will keep you posted on the progress of chapter 14, which I think won't get any further until next week due to 3 days of working in a row. Gash, I know. Anyway, off to do finish some washing and make an American style peanut butter (yup, it says that right on the jar) PB&J sandwich, yum! -EJG |
